Climate

The climate in Georgia is diverse - damp mountainous and cold in the Caucasus, dry steppe in the eastern part of Georgia, and warm, humid subtropical on the Black Sea coast.

The weather in the Caucasus is more stable than, say, in the Alps. In May - June, snow can still lie on high mountains - for example, in the mountainous part of Adjara, in May, some peaks are covered with snow.

If you are planning a summer vacation in Georgia with a visit to the highlands, then it is better to choose July and August for this, but even then the temperature at an altitude of 3000-3500 m can drop to -10 degrees Celsius. But somewhere lower at this time of year it is humid and hot.

Residents of Tbilisi and Kutaisi at this time leave to rest on the coast or in a sanatorium in the mountains. If you are planning a seaside vacation in Georgia, be aware that the summer season on the coast begins in May and lasts until October.

The sea in May already warms up to +18, and the average air temperature is +24. In June - early July, the water temperature on the Black Sea coast in Adjara reaches comfortable + 21 + 23, and the air temperature rises to +28.

But already from mid-July and all of August are the hottest months. At this time, sea water warms up to +25 +28, and air +27 +33. In September - October the water is still pleasant and warm, but the air temperature returns to a comfortable +23 +25.

Kitchen

It is not customary to talk about Georgian cuisine, you need to try it right away! There is sure to be something for sophisticated gourmets, as well as for lovers of a hearty and tasty meal.

The fertile Georgian land, especially in the Kakheti region, the gentle rays of the sun, the freshest mountain air and crystal clear water contributed to the fact that it was in this country that the locals were able to breed and grow about 500 varieties of grapes!

On the territory of the country there are many wine-making companies - WineMan, Tiflis Wine Cellar, Khareba, Telavi Wine Cellar.

Resorts of Georgia

Despite its small size, Georgia is a country quite rich in cultural, historical and natural attractions.

Mtskheta

The Second Jerusalem, as Mtskheta is also called, is located in close proximity to Tbilisi, so visiting it will not be too tiring. Mtskheta is a city of churches, so it is impossible to visit here and not visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the monasteries of Jvari, Samtavro and Shio-Mgvime. The main streets in Mtskheta were restored specifically for tourists, so the city looks fabulous and a little doll-like, but the photos here are simply unforgettable, so grab your camera!

Batumi

The capital of Adjara - Batumi - is called the Georgian Las Vegas, and for good reason: after sunset, the city is simply buried in lights, nightlife is in full swing, various casinos and clubs work. Rest in Batumi is not limited to swimming in the sea and lying on the beach. There are many places to visit and objects worth seeing here: Primorsky Boulevard with its Alphabet Tower and wheel; statue of Medea; churches to them. St. Nicholas and them. St. Barbara; Piazza, decorated in Venetian style; metal moving statue "Ali and Nino"; Botanical garden and dolphinarium, etc. There are many attractions outside the main city of Adjara - in mountainous areas: Makhuntseti waterfall, bridge of Queen Tamar, Machakhel gorge, Kolkheti National Park, fortress in Gonio, etc.

Gudauri

The Gudauri ski resort is located on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus Range. Unlike most other ski resorts in the Caucasus, Gudauri is equipped with the latest technology.

The height of the resort is 2153 m above sea level.

The ski area is connected by five lines of 3 and 4 seat Dopelmaer lifts. The third lift lifts you to the top of the mountain (3006 m), from the top of which an amazing panorama opens up, which you cannot miss, even if you are not a skier. Twenty-two tracks, of different difficulty levels (blue, red, black), are well prepared. The total length of prepared tracks is 57 km.

Bakuriani

The town of Bakuriani is one of the most multifunctional Georgian resorts.

Why? Firstly, Bakuriani is a sunny resort, because the number of sunny days here is over 210 days a year. Secondly, in the place where the resort is located, less than 800 millimeters of precipitation falls annually. Therefore, the local summer is a little cool (on average up to 15° Celsius), and the winter is relatively warm (up to -7° Celsius). Thirdly, the resort of Bakuriani is located at an altitude of over 1700 meters above sea level, on the picturesque northern slope of the Trialeti Range, near Borjomi.

Bakuriani is also one of the best ski resorts in Georgia. The resort of Bakuriani is well equipped for those who like to ski in the winter - numerous ski lifts, rental shops, several good hotels and much more. And what a beautiful nature here! You should definitely come here to look at this beauty.
